We prepare students for school, the AEAS test is just a first stepping stone. Students who are prepared for school are well prepared for the AEAS test .

The AEAS test has a number of facets:
Reading (Comprehension)
Writing
Listening
Vocabulary
Speaking
Mathematics
Non verbal reasoning

All of these skills are skills students will use in the Australian classroom. We cannot control how these skills will be measured in the AEAS test but we can teach the students how to approach each test and build a skill set which will provide them with a good grounding.

For the Reading (Comprehension) test the students can be introduced to texts and question sets which not only prepare them for the test but also cover the sort of topics students will later cover in schools.

We use these targeted texts to build sentencing skills and vocablulary. This means when the student enters the Australian classroom they have both the skills and the knowledge to succeed.

We can also use specialist science and maths contexts which can be used as evidence of ability for the students to use when applying to some schools where competence in mathematics and science is required for entry.

The AEAS test centre suggests one full week in a good intensive ESL school should result in 1 point increase to the AEAS test score. One of our previous students was looking at an AEAS test score of less than 20 our methods took her to above 50 in 10 weeks! She is now studying at one of Melbourne’s top independent girls schools.
